COVID-19 prevention and care materials for farming communities<\/h2><\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

In the period of the health emergency caused by COVID-19, the Campos de Esperanza program developed printed and digital materials to inform migrant farming communities with greater difficulty in accessing information. The materials produced were: 3 brochures, 1 children's activity book, 4 radio spots and 4 animated videos (the radio spots correspond to the same audio as the animations). These materials were distributed in coordination with federal, state and local public and private sector stakeholders. At the federal level, the materials were shared with SIPINNA, IMJUVE, CONADESUCA, the Congress, the Senate and the Mexican Network of Child-Friendly Cities. In Oaxaca and Veracruz, project staff coordinated with SIPINNA, INPI, and the Veracruz Ministry of Labor. National and local representatives of sugar cane and coffee also participated in the delivery of materials. The plan is to continue strengthening coordination with federal stakeholders.<\/p>

The physical distribution of awareness materials was coordinated primarily with municipalities and local representatives of the private sector, as well as with community leaders and volunteers. State and federal actors have contributed by disseminating materials electronically through social media or among their collaborative networks. At the community level, it is estimated that some 5,000 families were reached, of which 1,400 were delivered directly to agricultural workers. Neighboring municipalities have also received physical materials, such as Cosalapa, which printed an additional 1,000 sets of the brochure on its own. Similarly, national leaders in the sugarcane sector agreed that they will promote the delivery of materials to sugar mills in other states.<\/p>
